The General Services Department provides legislative support to the City Council with the following services:

• Prepares the Weekly Meeting Schedule (pdf 23 kB)
• Serves as a repository for the City’s official records including Council Agendas, Minutes, Ordinances and Resolutions, Contracts and Agreements
• Manages the Municipal Code and the Council's voting record
• Oversees the City's Records Management Program including Public Disclosure Requests Procedures
• Coordinates the City Council's appointment process for Advisory Boards, Committees and Commissions
• Administers Housing Programs - Down Payment Assistance, Major Home Repair and Housing Rehabilitation.
• Oversees the Human Services program and Lakewood's Promise
• Administers the City's RFPs/RFQs/Bids process
• Serves as the records officer for filing of claims for damages and appeals
