The City of Lakewood receives an annual Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) allocation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Lakewood also receives Home investment Partnership Act (HOME) funds through the Tacoma-Lakewood HOME Consortium. Grant funds are allocated for physical improvement projects and for housing programs. Housing programs include Down Payment Assistance, Minor Home Repair, Major Home Repair, and Housing Rehabilitation repairs for low-income owner-occupied single family residences.
