The Operations & Maintenance Division maintains the local street system including streetlights, pavements, vegetation, and storm drainage.
The Public Works Operations & Maintenance Division responsibilities include:

• Maintaining the local street system - roadway and shoulder overlays, street sweeping, weeding, pruning of vegetation and street tree planting, litter control, snow and ice removal, and other miscellaneous services (Note: Many of these services are performed using private contractors and/or Pierce County maintenance crews);
