Councilmember Marie Barth was elected to the Lakewood City Council November 2011 in Position 6. Shortly after her birth in New Jersey, her father was transferred to Fort Lewis. The family moved to Lakewood in 1953. She attended Aquinas Academy and Pierce College where she received an Associate’s Degree.

Councilmember Barth currently serves as President-Elect of Women’s Council of REALTORS® State Chapter, Director of Tacoma-Pierce County Association of REALTORS® and is a member of the Clover Park Rotary Club. She previously served as a Board Member for Tacoma Executives Association, Go Local and 21st Century Endowment Fund; and was a leader of the Clover Park School District Bond Issue in 2010.

Councilmember Barth has co-owned Designated Escrow, a small business in Lakewood for over 25 years. She also is a marketing consultant for local businesses and is an active Realtor with Allen Realtors. During the span of her career, she has received numerous awards including Tacoma-Pierce County Association of REALTORS ® Affiliate of the Year in1996 and 2008 Women’s Council of REALTORS ® Entrepreneur of the Year in 2009 and Washington State School Board Community Service Award in 2010.

Councilmember Barth and her husband of forty-plus years, Bruce, have one son and daughter-in-law who have blessed them with three wonderful granddaughters.
