City of LakewoodThe Public Works Operations & Maintenance Division maintains the local street system including streetlights, pavements, vegetation, and storm drainage.
Some of the Operations & Maintenance Division responsibilities included in maintaining the local street system are:
- Roadway and shoulder overlays
- Street sweeping
- Weeding and pruning of vegetation
- Street tree planting
- Litter control
- Snow and ice removal
- Other miscellaneous services
Note: Many of these services are performed using private contractors and/or Pierce County maintenance crews.
