In February, Police Chief Bret Farrar was recognized by the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs as the state's "Law Enforcement Leader of the Year." Chief Farrar was chosen for the agency's first time award for his outstanding leadership in the aftermath of the November 2009 tragedy.
