Sewer Loan Programs Are Now Available

By January 2011, the City of Lakewood will complete installation of main sewer lines in Tillicum and Woodbrook providing residents and business alike with much needed access to sewers.

What does this mean to you?

It means property owners and businesses along streets where the new sewer lines have been installed are eligible for sewer connection loans through the City.

There are two sources of funding for sewer connection loans: 1) Community Development Block Grants (CDBG); and 2) Public Works Trust Fund. Three things you should keep in mind:

  • All loans are available on a first come, first served basis subject to a fully completed application.
  • Funding for each program is limited.
  • Your property must be located along a street where the new sewer lines were installed.

What are the program requirements?

program 1 (CDBG): Owner Occupied, Single Family Properties

  • Available to owner occupied single family households. Mobile homes in parks are not eligible for this program.
  • Owner must live in the residence for at least a year prior to submitting a loan application.
  • Zero interest loans with payments deferred up to 20 years.
  • Income limitations apply, based on household size, see table below:

  • No income limitations apply.
  • Loan term is 10 years at 5% interest with monthly payments.
