"Making Life Easier for our Military and Law Enforcement Heroes"
In 1998, in a garage with two sewing machines, Logan Coffey began his civilian career producing American made tactical gear. After experiencing firsthand the serious deficiencies of military issue equipment while on active duty, Logan knew he could do better. Today, Tactical Tailor, Inc. has grown into a full fledged manufacturing company, supporting over 100 employees with a 50,000 square foot factory, a full service retail and custom shop, and an extensive dealer network that stretches across the globe. Current staff includes dedicated sales teams, in-house art and marketing, professional product designers, engineers and, of course a talented team of experienced seamstresses. The future looks even better for Tactical Tailor as the company plans to expand its Lakewood operations as well as open satellite offices on the East Coast.
Maintaining their promise of 100% American made goods, while much of the competition takes the easy way out and moves their production overseas, remaining competitive, let alone successful, is a daily challenge. “Relationships and frugality are crucial to being successful in this business,” commented Tactical Tailor President, Justin Coffey. Maintaining state of the art manufacturing equipment, varying production shifts when necessary, regular sales promotions and of course producing only the highest quality products are among the many factors that keep Tactical Tailor ahead of the competition. The company is proud to boast that 80% of sales support military end users, with the number one client being the United States Army. The remaining balance of customers is made up of people from all walks of life, from Law Enforcement to firearms enthusiasts to allied military personnel from countries around the world.
With an on-hand inventory averaging $1 million and custom sewing available at their recently remodeled retail store and custom shop, Tactical Tailor has much to offer the tactical gear enthusiast. The patented 'MALICE Clip' is the backbone of their product line, being integrated into the majority of their gear. Their professional product designer ensures small but crucial details are integrated into all Tactical Tailor products, such as covered zippers to reduce soldier's IR signatures. In addition to their original gear, packs and accessories, the company has also branched into carrying a variety of third party products that might appeal to their customer base. This includes apparel, boots, eyewear and outdoor supplies. Recently, high profile names such as Nike, Converse and New Balance have also made their first appearance at Tactical Tailor.
Pending ISO certification, Tactical Tailor maintains the highest levels of quality control. To ensure maximum accountability, the company’s production department has the ability to trace individual pieces back to its origin, including who produced and inspected each item that leaves the Tactical Tailor warehouse. Raw materials are scrutinized to the smallest details and rejected even for the slightest imperfections of material and shade variances.
By continuing to carry out Logan's original mission, the company's team of highly motivated and dedicated employees intends to keep Tactical Tailor at the top.
