Welcome to Lakewood

Conveniently located between Seattle and Olympia, Lakewood is the host community to Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Camp Murray. We are home to several beautiful lakes and wonderful historic treasures such as Fort Steilacoom Park, Lakewold Gardens, and Thornewood Castle. Lakewood is an ideal place to shop or lodge while visiting local destinations such as Mount Rainier or Chambers Bay.

13th Annual Father/Daughter Danc...

Attention Dads and Daughters: Are you ready to dance your socks off?

You'll get your chance at the City of Lakewood's 13th Annual Father/Daughter Dance on March 14 at Lakes High School.

This year's theme: "You're The One That I Want ..." Sock Hop. That's right, travel back to a bygone era in which poodle skirts were hip, drive-in movies were a weekend ritual and phones had wires connected to walls.

Inspired by the hit musical romantic comedy Grease , this year's dance is sure to be peachy keen, jellybean. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes and smiles, and prepare for a night that a certain slick-haired, leather jacket-donning lead male might refer to as simply ... electrifying!

Here are the details:

  • WHAT: City of Lakewood's 13th Annual Father/Daughter Dance
  • WHEN: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sautrday, March 14
