Honored in 2008 as one of the Top 50 Glaziers by Glass Magazine and as a Top 20 Glazing Contractor by U.S. Glass, Metal & Glazing in 2011, Sound Glass is at the top of their game. These are two of many awards received by this nationally recognized glass and glazing company. Providing solid customer service and solutions for every client is what they do best. No job is too small or too big. If it can be done, they will figure a way to make it happen.

Sound Glass is one of the few union shops that serve both residential and commercial customers in the region. Trained technicians are AAMA certified, safety comes first, and employees enjoy great benefits. This talented and caring team of 40+ installers and 20+ other skilled team members on staff, can complete any job.

Whether it’s a custom glass table top or mirror, or a million dollar custom glass contract for an entire building complex, each and every client and job is treated with the utmost care and respect. Headquartered in Lakewood, they perform jobs in Pierce, King and Kitsap counties, in Eastern Washington, Oregon and they even export products to Africa. Their suppliers are located both here and throughout the United States. 95 percent of their glass comes from the Puget Sound region.

Celebrating 2013 as their 30th year in business, Sound Glass has a lot to be proud of. In 2007, owner and President of Sound Glass Sales Inc., Warren Willoughby, purchased 2.5 acres that was the Hartzog Nursery. In 2008, he began building the complex that is now on the corner of 75th and Lakewood Drive, and they have plans for expansion of their operations this year. Warren bought out the business from his founding partner in 1986 and has surrounded himself with a dedicated team of professionals who have helped make Sound Glass the successful Northwest business it is today.

Rick Helm, owner of Phase II Construction had this to say about Sound Glass, “Everything we do in life is about trust, relationships, and expectations. There is an element of trust and reliability that is unsurpassed by Sound Glass. It’s always a win-win situation and they are great friends.” Larry Fockler, President of Mountain Construction says, “We’ve done numerous projects with Warren and Sound Glass. They are always responsive and great to work with.” Kelly Halligan, manager of several apartment complexes has used Sound Glass for all her projects since 1982. She says, “They bend over backwards and are like family. They are extremely caring craftsman, conscientious, and their workmanship is unbelievable.”

January 2013 was Sound Glass’ biggest month on record, and the future is looking bright. The secret to success includes a diverse portfolio by working with contractors, governments, churches, private businesses, and individuals. They follow the spikes in the industries they serve. Products include custom manufactured railing systems, glass canopies and skylights, aluminum store fronts and glass curtain walls, heavy tempered glass walls, door systems and hardware. Sound Glass also specializes in luxury shower doors, mirrors, replacement windows, replacement glass, and just about anything else you can break. They stay on top of new ways to use glass as energy collectors, while creating beautiful works of art in the process.

Cheerful customer service and respect are crucial. The phone is always answered by a person, even if it’s Warren. “It’s about taking care of the person in front of you,” says Warren Willoughby. He further notes that, “Repeat business is huge.” When asked why someone would want to work for Sound Glass? Warren says, “It’s a fun place to work. People are allowed to be creative in their work and own their job. We work together and support each other as a team.”
