Elected to Office: January 2008

Mayor Don Anderson has served on the City Council in Position 4 since January 2008, serving as Deputy Mayor for his first five years. Mayor Anderson represents Lakewood on the board of Pierce Transit, co-chairs the South Sound Military and Communities Partnership and is the council liaison for the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

Mayor Anderson’s past civic and community involvement includes serving as Board President of Tacoma Goodwill Industries; President of the Puyallup School District Board; Board Member of Rotary Club #8, and serving on numerous other boards. He also has an extensive record of volunteer service and has been an official for high school, NCAA and Olympic Trials track and field meets.

Mayor Anderson received his BA in business administration and his JD from the University of Puget Sound. He is an attorney and partner with the Tacoma firm of Eisenhower & Carlson, PLLC. He served overseas as a U.S. Navy JAG officer from 1978 – 1981. Don and his wife, Nancy have been married since 1976. They have four grown daughters, one grandson and one granddaughter.
