The Clover Park School District has an average student enrollment of 11,865 and serves our community through 17 elementary schools, four middle schools, two high schools and an alternative high school. The district provides numerous educational programs and services and is run by 847 certified staff and 684 support staff.
For post-secondary education, Lakewood is home to two fully accredited community colleges. Clover Park Technical College and Pierce College-Fort Steilacoom campus offer courses on-line and on campus for students getting ready for their first career, their next step within their career and new careers.
Lakewood has an incredible array of home options, offering every style of modern housing to historic properties such as a Frank Lloyd Wright. With five large lakes within the City, homes are available with waterfront property and beautiful lake views.
There is a great variety of apartments throughout town as well as new homes being added to the market. The new Echelon Apartments and San Moritz, Flett Creek and Custer Oaks developments have added housing opportunities with nice family neighborhoods to the mix.

The Lakewood Police Department is one of the largest in the state and operates an array of programs, employing modern technology to expand its reach and efficiency. The department is flexible, efficient and very able to meet the needs of Lakewood, a diverse community of nearly 60,000 people.
West Pierce Fire & Rescue proudly serves the citizens of Lakewood and University Place and is funded separately by the cities. They provide numerous services to our community including fire suppression, emergency medicine and transport, technical rescue, hazardous incidents, fire prevention, inspections and fire and life safety education.
Serving Lakewood and its surrounding communities is St. Claire Hospital , a 106-bed community hospital that offers leading-edge care and the latest medical technology provided by expert, compassionate staff. Backed by the resources of St. Joseph Medical Center’s specialized services, patients are able to receive outstanding care close to home. St. Claire Specialty Center provides outpatient services.
