Police Explorer

PhotoThe Lakewood Police Explorers consists of youths, ages 15-21, who are volunteers for the Lakewood Police Department. Explorers duties range from assisting with crime scene operations to security details at community events. While an Explorer, you receive hands on law enforcement training in the following fields: traffic stops, high risk traffic stops, field interviews, domestic violence, building searches, SWAT operations and much more. The Explorer Program is a rewarding and productive activity for youth which allows them to take an active role in their community and their police department. Through the Police Explorers program young people have the chance to gain real law enforcement training and experience that will benefit them in building their futures. The Explorers program is also a great opportunity for those interested in pursuing a law enforcement career.
