Volunteers make Lakewood better. Picking up trash, clearing invasive species, or other community service projects are great ways to get involved. Below is a list of volunteer opportunities as well as a form to suggest new community service events for the City.

Volunteer Opportunities

City-Organized Volunteer Events

Lakewood Farmers Market
Tuesdays, 2-6:30 p.m. from June to September. Volunteer by staffing the city of Lakewood booth to help hand out freebies, or assist with set up or breakdown each week.

SummerFEST
SummerFEST 2023 is Saturday, July 15. Volunteers are needed to help with two-hour shifts between 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Parks Appreciation Day
Parks Appreciation Day is an annual event where neighbors pitch in to pull weeds and beautify local parks.

Adopt-A-Street Program
Local groups may “adopt” a Lakewood street and perform occasional litter cleanups to beautify Lakewood.

Independent Volunteer Opportunities

Flett Creek Stewardship Events
Volunteer to help clean this important Lakewood waterway and natural habitat. Contact [email protected] if you are interested

Lakewood First Lions Club Cleanups
Club members spend an hour on a Saturday each month picking up litter. Contact Eric Warn at [email protected] with interest
