2014 Lodging Tax Grant Applications Accepted through August 22

The City of Lakewood is soliciting project proposals that support and encourage tourism and cultural activities in Lakewood, Washington. The source of monies from which projects will be funded is the city’s share of taxes collected on overnight stays at hotels and motels within the City of Lakewood.

Beginning Thursday-August 1, 2013, application forms will be available on the city’s website at www.cityoflakewood.us and by contacting Melody at (253) 983-7769 or . The 2014 Lodging Tax Grant Application provides information regarding eligible uses of motel/hotel tax revenues and the process for proposal submission.

Grant application packets must be complete, signed, and received by the city’s third floor receptionist, or received in the mail, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday-August 22, 2013. Late or incomplete application packets will not be considered.

Applications will be reviewed by Lakewood’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee which will make funding recommendations to the City Council. Final funding decisions for 2014 will be made by the Lakewood City Council in November-2013.
