Lakewood Plans 100 Best Celebration
National Director to Attend

LAKEWOOD, WA - On Monday, October 18th, 6:00-7:00 pm the youth of Lakewood will celebrate Lakewood's selection as one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People. School principals, club leaders, church youth groups, etc. are being asked to send youth delegates. The event will be hosted in the Lakewood City Council Chambers.
The City's Youth Council will host the event and local media are welcome. City officials and a representative from the governor's office will attend.

The event will highlight the Youth Council's mission and activities, Make a Difference Day plans, opportunities for youth to get involved, and the celebration of being named one of the 100 Best for the 4th time! During the event, youth will have the chance to meet city council members and other officials.

The City of Lakewood has been honored as a four time recipient of the 100 Best Communities for Young People award by America's Promise. Lakewood's Promise will welcome special guest, Jordan LaPier, the Senior Director of 100 Best Communities. Mr. LaPier is flying in from Washington DC to recognize Lakewood.
