City of Lakewood’s Parks and Recreation Department recently worked with SERA Architects to conduct a feasibility study of the renovation of a Fort Steilacoom barn. The feasibility study assessed existing structural condition, historic preservation treatment, potential uses and necessary infrastructure improvements. We are reviewed three of the existing barns and selected one to move forward with renovation with the intent of creating a community gathering place.
We will host a community meeting Thursday, November 6th at 6pm in the Lakewood City Hall Council Chambers. At this meeting, we will share feasibility study findings and announce which barn has been selected for renovation. We welcome input and ideas from the community, so please forward this information to community members you believe may be interested.
