The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department in the City of Lakewood continues to develop its Wards Lake Park Master Plan for the park site located at 2716-84th Street South in Lakewood. This 22 acre park site contains both passive and active recreational elements and a master plan for its future has been developed over the past month. Public meetings, attended by neighborhood residents, Park Board members and City staff, have been an important part of the planning process. Citizens have been able to share their personal visions for this park property, and Mr. Bruce Dees, Wards Lake Park master plan project consultant, has considered all of the proposals in his project design.
Mr. Dees will present his master plan design at a public meeting scheduled Thursday, April 22, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Lakewood City Hall located at 6000 Main Street SW in Lakewood. The design will also be shared with the Lakewood Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and with the Lakewood City Council in upcoming weeks. The public is encouraged to attend the April 22, 2010, meeting to learn the details of the proposed master plan.
