LAKEWOOD INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL HONORS ITS MULTICULTURAL COMMUNITY

Lakewood Sister Cities Association (LSCA) is proud to present its 11th Annual Lakewood International Festival, on Saturday, August 28th in the Sharon McGavick Student Conference Center at Clover Park Technical College, 4500 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, Washington.

This year's festival begins at 11:00 a.m. and will feature international musical performances representing all parts of the globe until approximately 4:00 p.m. There will also be a kid's art and play area, food and market vendors, and raffle prizes including the grand prize of five nights in Las Vegas with $750 for airfare/expenses and a second prize of $350 Safeway gift card.

The festival is free to the public and celebrates Lakewood's cultural diversity and its Sister City relationships: Sister City with Okinawa, Japan and Bauang, Philippines and Friendship City with Gimhae, Korea and Danzhou, China. This year's highlighted city is Bauang, Philippines.

The international festival is the organization's major annual activity and major fund raising event. While the festival entry is free, raffle tickets are sold for $2 and you need not be present to win a variety of prizes including golf and gardening baskets, art from Sister Cities, and other prizes. Funds raised through the festival support such annual activities as student and business exchanges between Lakewood and its Sister Cities.
