City Offers Condolences To Lancer Brigade

This week, the City of Lakewood offered its condolences Col. Louis A. Zeisman, Commander of the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division - the City's Community Connector to Joint Base Lewis-McChord - in light of the tragic loss of Pfc. Andrew Sass on June 21 in California.

Here is the letter Mayor Don Anderson and City Manager John Caulfield sent to Col. Zeisman:

On behalf of the City of Lakewood, we would like to express our sincere condolences, sympathies and support to you and the Lancer Brigade for your loss. Our hearts go out to Pfc. Andrew Sass’ wife, family and friends who are affected and deeply shocked by this sudden and tragic accident.

The Lancer Team has suffered a tragedy, and our community and country have suffered a tremendous loss as well. Please know that we will keep Pfc. Sass, his loved ones and the Lancer Team in our thoughts and prayers. We know that the coming days and weeks will be difficult ones for you, and if there is anything our City can do to assist, please feel free to call upon us.
