On 8/14/13, Animal Control received a report of an injured cat at an apartment in the area of Steilacoom Blvd. and Hipkins Road. Animal Control responded and learned the renter shows up occasionally to feed the cats but does not live there. A/C retrieved 2 cats from the apartment and noted that it was so full of junk that entry was very difficult. Community Safety Resource Team was notified. The building official inspected on 8/16/13 and declared the apartment unsafe to occupy due to unsanitary conditions and insufficient egress. CSRT notified the property owner of the conditions and corrections that are needed. Work began immediately to clean the apartment and a 3rd cat was rescued on 8/19/13.
