  • CSRT Booth at Tillicum Centennial: Community Safety & Resource Team (CSRT) members, along with Neighborhood Patrol Officers staffed a booth at the Tillicum Centennial on August 14th. Team members distributed literature about the mission and function of the CSRT, answered questions on a variety of issues, and handed out goody bags to children.
  • Annual Washington City Managers conference: The city manager attended the annual WCMA conference in Winthrop August 18-20, where he was a speaker on the subject: "When a Community Faces Tragedy, Lakewood's Story". Other featured speakers included Ted Gaebler, co-author of Reinventing Government, and Bob O'Neill, ICMA executive director.
  • 100th St. Night Work: The contractor will be working nights (8:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.) everyday the week of August 23rd, Mon - Fri, on 100th. The road will be open to traffic; they plan on using the approved single lane closures. The work will consist of excavating, forming, and pouring of traffic islands, as well as curb and gutter and sidewalk forming and pouring. Grinding and overlay on 100th won't happen until the week of September 10th.
